The five-minute pre-check
- All exterior lights working — brakes, signals, plate light.
- Tires with legal tread depth and no cord showing.
- Wipers that actually clear the glass.
- Windshield free of cracks in the driver's line of sight.
- No major fluid leaks under the car overnight.
